Many people are discovering the joys and health benefits of a full body cleanse and detoxification. When you cleanse your body, you are reducing the amount of toxins you are allowing in, while stimulating the natural mechanisms that flush out what’s already inside. The process isn’t a medical miracle or feat of impressive alternative medicine. It’s a simple exchange of diet and sweating.
Controlling Your Diet
To cleanse your body, you first have to eliminate your toxic intake. Certain foods heavily over-burden your body’s natural detoxing mechanisms like the liver and kidneys. Alcohol so over-burdens the liver that many alcoholics develop serious liver problems later in life.
Try to eliminate foods heavy in complex carbohydrates and/or fats, especially saturated fats. Also avoid dairy creams, red meats, heavy grains like wheat, white sugar, and drugs like caffeine and alcohol. Any sort of processed or refined foods are definitely to be avoided which includes all fast food, anything that comes packaged for the refrigerator or worse, the freezer. Replace soft drinks and other carbonated beverages with water or fruit juice, which has natural sugars and nutrients. Obviously, avoid smoking.
Once you’ve established an improved diet, your body can now work at a natural pace to eliminate the toxins already present in your body. This is the natural way to cleanse your body and works like a charm.
Other Tips
To help facilitate the process along, you should try to maintain good hygiene while you work to cleanse your body inside. The pores of your skin are a valuable means for the body to excrete or expel contaminants, especially oils, from the bloodstream. The more you keep the surface area clean, especially in high-oil areas like the face, the less chance of the toxic residue clogging the pores and causing acne or other blemishes.
When you cleanse your body of toxins, you may experience a few detox-related symptoms including oily skin and hair, acne or blemishes, achy joints or muscles, headaches, dramatic changes to bowel movements or urination, discoloration or whiteness of the tongue, and increased sweating. These are unpleasant but a necessary step in the process of getting your body free of harmful lingering toxins.
