How to Tell a Real Psychic from a Fake

By Ogg Bloggs

We all know there are some phony charlatans out there preying on the naïve and gullible by offering to cure all woes or guarantee fortune and fame with a little glimpse into the future.  But that doesn’t mean there aren’t also legitimate psychic phenomena happening all the time.  There are individuals blessed and gifted with extraordinary talents and abilities that defy the current scientific understanding of the universe.   Mediums, Faith Healers, and Psychics abound with real talent, impressing even the hardest skeptic.  But how do you tell the difference between a real psychic and someone who just wants to peer into your pocket book?

There is No Such Thing as a Curse

This is the single biggest clue that you are being duped.  If a psychic claims that you are under some kind of nasty curse or have a “negative block” that the psychic themselves can remove for you….for a price, then they are NOT a real psychic.  No one can curse you and no one can remove something dangling over your head.  If something is blocking you or summoning what you might call “bad luck” or misfortune, the culprit is always—ALWAYS—You.  No one else has that power over you.  Only you.  No real psychic will tell you this unless they are lying to you.

Now, you can of course give your power away willingly and phony psychics know this.  So they trick you into thinking that you require some cure that only they can provide, opening you up and weakening your will for no other reason than to manipulate you into giving them what they want – usually money.

Psychics Get No Guarantee

Another big flashing red light is the guarantee of certain results. The way psychic impression work is much like dream imagery. It’s foggy and uncertain because all things are constantly in motion. The future is NOT certain or fixed. Free will always has a say in the matter. If some phone psychic guarantees that he/she can show you your future, bring you a loved one, or win you the lottery, they are not a real psychic. A real psychic knows that they can only see one of many possible futures. They can reveal this to you so that you can make the appropriate choices to find your way to that future but there is always the option to avoid it.

Information Probing

When someone first encounters a psychic clairvoyant, they usually resort to the tongue-in-cheek modern humor of assuming or suggesting the psychic should know everything. Psychics, even real psychics, are still only humans with sensory perception slightly heightened beyond yours and mine. They don’t know your secret name for your third pet you had in grade school and not knowing that doesn’t mean they aren’t a real psychic.

On the same dime, they do need to know a few things upfront to forge a connection with you and work with you and your “energies.” A real psychic may ask for your name and maybe your birthday and, of course, relevant names or facts about the situation you’re inquiring about. But if the psychic probes for further unnecessary information like times and dates and middle names and bank account numbers… you know you have a problem.   This sort of psychic test is a bit unnecessary.  It doesn’t work that way and you shouldn’t be asked to tell your entire life story to someone who is supposed to be determining if the stud you met on the subway is your soul mate. Be careful of this. Real psychics are subtle and sensitive, not pushy and inquisitive.

Use Your Own Good Judgment

Approaching the paranormal or psychic world requires an open mind, even for modern skeptics. But that doesn’t mean you should believe everything someone tells you. Always filter what you are told and what you experience with your own sound, rational judgment and you’ll be alright. Remember that a real psychic could be right in front of you at any time… even in the mirror! Don’t be overly critical or judgmental of every psychic you meet, whether in person or in a psychic chat. Many of them are wonderfully good-natured souls who simply want to use their gift to help others and maybe make a sustainable living. A real psychic is a person too. Not simply a salesman.

Keep that in mind and your dealings with the extra-sensory world will be useful and profound.

This is EASIEST question in the world to answer:

The REAL psychic will have won the 1 Million Dollar challenge from the James Randi Educational Foundation. And they would have won it a loooooooong time ago!

James Randi is full of shit. Jesus himself could appear in front of him and turn water into wine or make a loaf of bread into 30 and James Randi would never admit Jesus defied science. Hes done it several times.

blu,

(James Randi....Hes done it several times)

Just name ONE.

Please provide one reference of a PROVEN claim which James Randi did not accept, and consequently ripped off the claimant of his 1 million bucks.

Be my guest, blu!
