All of these are difficult to break down in your system and provide little real nutritional value for the price the body pays to process them. Limiting these foods is the first major step to detoxing.
In addition to limiting these dietary limitations, you can facilitate a healthy body cleanse by drinking a lot of water to flush the system, exercising and/or sweating more often to allow your pores to excrete the toxins in your blood, and getting plenty of rest.
Surviving the Body Cleanse
A detox can be harsh on a body that is extremely toxic, resulting in side effects or detox symptoms like headaches, painful bowel movements, or acne. These happen because you’re allowing the body to finally process and remove all of the toxic build-up that has been causing the dip in health in the first place. While these can be very uncomfortable at times, it’s best not to resort to over-medicating to cope. The medications are just more foreign agents your body needs to process. However, never let symptoms get so extreme that they are debilitating.
Try to drink fruit juice, which has natural vitamins and sugars to compensate for the lack of artificial equivalents. Take it easy during the body cleansing period to allow maximum energy to be directed toward the body cleanse.
